Narni

The ancient Narni, that romans called Narnia, is a typical Umbrian town, built on a 240 metres high hill: you can have a wonderful views over the River Nera and its valley. It’s a beautiful example of a medieval village with churches, palaces and the Albornoz Fortress on the top of the hill. In the Civic Museum you will find a beautiful collection of paintings, among them by Ghirlandaio, Spagna and Benozzo Gozzoli. We suggest you: To go on a easy hike towards the Nera river to visit the I century b.C. remains of the roman bridge “Ponte di Augusto” and the white San Cassiano Abbey, that stand out in the green woods.
